The Street Stock division is considered and entry level division with the focus on affordability and safety. The following rules will be strictly enforced to see that the intent of the class is maintained. Any car that competed in at least half of the races (10) in 2011 will be deemed by I-88 Speedway able to compete in 2012 as long as NO changes were made to that car and is still under same ownership.

Chassis:

  1. Any American made rear wheel drive passenger car.
  2. No front wheel drives, No sub compact cars, No trucks or SUV's.
  3. All cars must keep factory wheel base within a 1" maximum tolerance.
  4. Full frame cars highly recommended. Can replace the rear clip (from behind rear axle) with 2" x 3" tubing.
  5. Unibody cars can replace the frame with 2" x 3" tubing from 36" behind the center line of the front wheels. The 2" x 3" tubing must go all the way to the rear of the car.
  6. Front firewall must be in stock location. Can be replaced with 20 gauge steel or .080" aluminum. Must seal drivers compartment from engine compartment.
  7. Rear firewall and rear window shelf must seal off drivers compartment. Can be replace with 20 gauge steel or .080" aluminum.
  8. Steering column and seat must remain in stock location. Seat can not be located further back than 32" from the center of rear axle housing to the back bottom edge of seat. Must have a 1" hole in rear firewall to check this measurement.
  9. Must have a full 6-point roll cage with minimum 4 driver's door bars and 3 passengers side. Roll cage and door bars minimum 1-1/2" O.D. steel or seamless tubing and minimum .095" thickness. All major cage and bars must have corner gussets.
  10. Must have one bar down center of windshield the same size.
  11. NO offset or set back roll cages allowed.

Engine:

  1. Any year engine may be run in any body as long as they are like model (Chevy in Chevy, Ford in Ford, and Chrysler in Chrysler).
  2. Engine must remain in stock location.
  3. No notching frames for fuel pump clearance. No electric fuel pumps.
  4. All block and engine components (heads, intake, etc.) must have original casting numbers.
  5. Cubic inch limits: Chevy 350, Ford 351, Chrysler 360 must have stock stroke and bore plus .060".
  6. Stock cast iron two barrel intake only, NO modifications.
  7. Hydraulic or solid cams only.
  8. Hydraulic or solid lifters only OEM dimensions. NO mushroom or roller lifters.
  9. Stock type 3-ring flat top pistons, NO domed pistons. No part of piston may extend above deck.
  10. Stock OEM, roller tip or roller rockers (1.5 or 1.6 ratio only).
  11. Stainless steel valves allowed. Stud girdles allowed.
  12. Stock OEM cast iron cylinder heads only. Also may use non performance World Product stock replacement Chevy head part # world 043600 or world 043610.
  13. NO factory performance and NO aluminum heads allowed.
  14. No heads with larger then 2.02" intake valves and 1.60 exhaust valves.
  15. No porting, polishing or grinding of cylinder heads. Must meet stock internal and external measurements.
  16. Stock OEM ignition systems only. No ignition timing altering devices. No traction control devices of any kind allowed.
  17. Stock OEM or box stock Holley # 4412 2-barrel carburetor only. A 1" fiber or aluminum adapter/spacer may be used. NO tapered or open spacers. Must NOT be modified in any way. Adapter holes must be straight and parallel with a maximum diameter of 1.750". Maximum height of spacer and gaskets is 1 1/8".
  18. Carburetors must remain stock except for the following, can remove choke hardware, jets, power valve, air bleeds, emulsion bleeds, float, needle/seat, pump/cam, idle bypass holes in butterflies, plugging vacuum ports, welding linkage to shaft, shaft bushings to correct worn shaft and boosters may be tightened. Carburetors must have choke horn. Maximum throttle bore 1 11/16" (1.687"). Maximum venture diameter 1 3/8". All carburetors must pass all no-go gauge checks. Must be in stock location.
  19. Pump gas or racing fuel only. No additives.
  20. May use chassis or crossover style headers. Maximum 1-5/8" tubes into maximum 3" exhaust. No exhaust in driver's compartment. Must run under car and exit past the driver and before rear tires. No crankcase evacuation systems.
  21. No stepped, two into one or H-pipes allowed.
  22. Unaltered mufflers mandatory.
  23. Stock OEM or oval track claimer style oil pan only. No windage screens or modified oiling systems. Wet sump only.
  24. Must have a 1" plug in side of oil pan for viewing crank and rods.
  25. No remote mounted oil filters.
  26. No gear or belt drive cam systems, timing chains only.

Transmission:

  1. Stock automatic or manual transmission only.
  2. All gears must work including reverse.
  3. Automatics must have fully functional torque converter (minimum 11") with NO internal modifications.
  4. NO hollow converters or any method of creating direct drive systems allowed.
  5. Manuals must be fully functional 3 or 4 speeds.
  6. Must have full steel bell housing.
  7. Stock type clutch, pressure plate and flywheel. Flywheel minimum weight is 25lbs.
  8. No aluminum parts in clutch system. No aftermarket transmissions. No corvette parts.

Body:

  1. Bodies must be complete. Original gutted body, Aftermarket steel or aluminum bodies allowed. Bodies must retain OEM style and dimensions. No late model style bodies.
  2. Steel or fiberglass roofs, must meet stock style and dimensions.
  3. All glass must be removed. Must have full windshield screen made of heavy material.
  4. Must have complete floor on driver's side of car, from firewall to firewall. Made of 20 gauge steel or .080" aluminum minimum.
  5. Maximum hood scoop size 3" tall x 21" wide fully enclosed.
  6. Front nose piece must be original or aftermarket replica. Must be for like model and fit correctly. No late model type nose pieces.
  7. All aftermarket or fabricated body panels must retain OEM style and dimensions. Made of minimum .040" aluminum.
  8. Quarter panels must extend minimum 36" from center of rear wheel to rear of panel.
  9. Must have rear quarter window to match body style. Either left open or filled with lexan.
  10. OEM factory trunk lid or fabricated from steel or aluminum. Must cover complete trunk area and removable.
  11. Must have solid rear panel. Original panel or fabricated from steel or aluminum must extend from quarter panel to quarter panel and minimum 12" tall.
  12. Rear spoiler may be made of steel, aluminum or lexan. Can NOT extend beyond quarter panels. Maximum 5" tall and non adjustable. Spoiler side panels 5" tall x 6" long and taper down from spoiler. Can not extend beyond the end of the spoiler.

Rear End:

  1. Stock rear end for like models (Chevy/Chevy, Ford/Ford and Chrysler/Chrysler).
  2. May use Ford 9" in any model with the following: Maximum width 62", must utilize stock GM mounts if in GM model in OEM factory location. Ford 9" floater style rear ends allowed.
  3. Rear end must be locked, spools allowed.
  4. Must have 1" lug nuts and recommend minimum ½" wheel studs. Minimum 5 per wheel.
  5. All cars must have steel drive shaft hoops mounted no more then 6" from u-joints. No chains or cables.
  6. Drive shafts must be steel and painted white.
  7. No light weight parts.
  8. No wide 5 bolt patterns allowed.

Front Suspension: (Applies to GM metric chassis)

  1. Upper Control Arms: May use stock unaltered OEM A-frames or replacement steel cross shaft aftermarket arms. Maximum length is 9". Arms must mount to stock OEM chassis mounts in original location. Must use original type ball joints.
  2. Lower Control Arms: Must use stock OEM arms. Must mount in factory mounts. Arms or mounts can not be altered. Must use OEM style ball joints.
  3. Spindles: Stock OEM only. No pinto or aftermarket dropped spindles. May not be reamed for larger ball joints. Must use OEM style wheel bearings. Spindle savers allowed.
  4. Steering: Steering box, tie rod ends, idler arm, pitman arm and drag link must be stock OEM style parts. May use aftermarket steel adjusting sleeves up to 4-1/2" long.
  5. Shocks: Must be mounted in OEM factory style mounts both upper and lower. No adjustable or aluminum shocks. No shocks with Schrader valve or remote reservoir.
  6. Springs: Must be OEM style springs. Must be 5-1/2" diameter any length. Must fit into OEM factory location. May use adjustable upper spring cups. No jacking bolts.

Rear Suspension:

  1. The rear suspension must utilize all stock OEM mounting points.
  2. Trailing Arms: Stock OEM or aftermarket stock appearing only. Must be stock OEM mounts in stock location. Lower arms must be stock length. Uppers may be adjustable but must use stock mounting. May use bushings or rod ends.
  3. Springs: Must be OEM style springs. Minimum 5" diameter any length. Must mount in stock location in factory cross member (upper) and factory location on rear end housing (may use aftermarket weld on mounts in stock location). May use adjustable spring cups. No jacking bolts.
  4. Shocks: Must be mounted in stock location for model car. May use aftermarket or fabricated upper mount but must be in stock location. May use fixed bearing mount shocks. No adjustable or aluminum shocks. No shocks with Schrader valve or remote reservoir.
  5. Unibody type cars with OEM rear leaf springs. Springs must be mounted in stock location. Must be fixed mounted, no sliders and no adjustable spring shackles. Leaf springs must be steel.

Nerf Bars and Bumpers:

  1. May have one external horizontal nerf bar per side. Must be mounted tight to door panel and properly mounted to main roll cage. No sharp ends or bolts outside of bars. Can be made from 1-1/2" roll cage tubing or square steel tubing 1" wide by 2" high maximum.
  2. Stock type front bumpers and covers only. No exposed tubular or 2x4 bumpers except for hoop.
  3. Stock type rear bumpers and covers, or fabricated steel. Maximum 4" height, not to extend more than 4" beyond rear quarter panels.
  4. May have rear quarter panel nerf bars. Must be mounted to rear bumper and frame. Must be tight to panel with no open or sharp ends. Minimum 12" long.
  5. All bumpers must be securely fastened to frame. No visible reinforcement on bumpers. No cowcatchers.
  6. Front and rear bumper hoops no higher then 8" and not to extend wider then frame.

Wheels:

  1. Wheel maximum width 8".
  2. May be any offset.
  3. Wheel must be steel. Racing wheels recommended. Stock wheel must be reinforced.
  4. Bead locks allowed 2 per car.

Tires:

  1. American Racer size 70/245 x 15 ONLY.
  2. No recaps, No softening.
  3. Grooving, buffing and siping allowed.

Cooling System:

  1. OEM style radiator in stock location. May be aluminum.
  2. Must have one quart over flow tank.
  3. Recommended 22 lb. cap.
  4. Cast iron water pumps only. No electric fans. No flex or aluminum fans.

Fuel Cell:

  1. Fuel cell mandatory.
  2. Must be mounted in a steel container. Must have minimum two (2) steel 1" straps mounted to frame to secure container.
  3. Maximum 22 gallon.
  4. Must have tip over valve in fuel cell or vent line.

Battery:

  1. Only one (1) 12 volt battery. No high voltage.
  2. Battery must be mounted inside of frame and not in driver's compartment.
  3. Terminals must be insulated or covered. Battery must be properly secured.

Brakes:

  1. Operable and effective 4 wheel brakes mandatory.
  2. Dual brake master cylinder allowed.
  3. May use front to rear bias adjuster. Balance bars allowed with external or remote adjusters.
  4. Stock type rear disc brakes allowed.
  5. May have right front brake shut off, must be in driver's reach. All brake components must be in place and working condition.
  6. All brake components must be OEM type systems.

Weight:

  1. All cars must weigh minimum 3,000 lbs. dry and with driver.
  2. Track may reserve the right to enforce a maximum left side and rear weight percentage in the interest of fair competition.
  3. Track scales official. No protest.

General and Safety:

  1. Aluminum racing seat mandatory. Must be high backed, minimum .095" material.
  2. Seat must remain in stock OEM position. Must be mounted with minimum six (6) 3/8" bolts.
  3. Must have 5 point racing seat belt harness properly mounted. Belts must be in good condition and no older then 5 years old from manufactured date.
  4. All roll bars that driver may come in contact with must be padded.
  5. Window net mandatory on driver's side.
  6. Gas pedal must have toe lift. No cable linkage allowed.
  7. No mirrors.
  8. One way radios mandatory. No two way radios allowed.
  9. Must have approved fire suit, full face helmet, gloves and neck support.
  10. Must have master kill switch boldly labeled "ON" and "OFF" within reach of driver and safety crew if necessary.
  11. I-88 Speedway promoters and track officials reserve the right to make changes to any of the rules for this division at any time for the intended purpose of fair competition and safety. Speedway promoters and tech inspectors reserve the right to not allow a car to compete that is deemed unsafe or not within these rules.

ALL I-88 SPEEDWAY RULES AND RULES FOR THIS CLASS WILL BE ENFORCED.
